Confronting the fear

For a while now there has been a big debate within me and a real fear of what to do in the future when it comes to publishing my first book.

Its a big deal for me to finally have something to share with the world and I want to make sure that I am able to share it with as many of you as I can, this is where the dilemma comes,

What is the best route to take, Self Publish or Traditional?

I have done a fair amount of research over the last number of months to try and decide what to do and every time I think I have made up my mind, I doubt my choice.

The traditional route throws up the most challenges for me, i’m still very unsure on how the querying process works and especially how that works here in Ireland as most of the videos or articles I have read seem to relate to the USA.

The Self Publishing route I have found out a lot more on and then I feel like I am spoilt for choice, there are just so many Print On Demand services out there, ranging from KDP, Ingramspark to LULU.

Where do you start with all of this?

The fear factor is a major part of it all for me as I worry that a publish will not want to pick my work up as its not good enough and then I have the control with self publishing, however, the distribution channels available through a traditional publisher would be of huge help.

I still have a little while to decide what I will do, but it really is time to start confronting the fear of publishing

It would be amazing to hear your stories and how you have decided to publish your work.

I would love to hear from people that have published traditionally to explain how they found the whole process, but would also love to hear from the Indie authors and how they got on
